H003: Dry Appliance Installer

3 Day course – Theory & Practical Assessment

Enhance your heating, plumbing or construction experience and learn more about biomass and solid fuels with the nationally recognised HETAS H003 training course. Waxman Training Academy hosts this three day training session in purpose built state-of-the art facilities, for anyone beginning a career in solid fuel or looking to gain further understanding of modern solid fuel, its delivery and storage, as well as the associated technologies and appliances that it encompasses.

 The H003 course features information on all the relevant Building Regulations as well as the British and European standards currently used in the solid fuel industry. The course includes the following topics:

  • Instruction on all aspects of dry appliance installation
  • The correct installation of hearths and fireplaces
  • Different types of chimney and connecting flue pipes
  • Identification of faults and the correct use of terminals
  • Commissioning and servicing of dry solid fuel appliances

Prerequisites

At least one of the following:

  • Demonstrable, appropriate previous work experience on dry stove installations.
  • OFTEC technician with scope of work categories 101,102 or 105e.
  • Registered Gas Safe operative with work categories CCN1 and HTR1.
  • Registered member of GOMCS, APICS or NACS.

The course will take place in The Waxman Training Academy, which is an excellent facility for renewable technology training. It is located off Junction 24 of the M62 (near Huddersfield, West Yorkshire) with great transport links throughout the UK.
